What an opening week!

The first group of Isle of Skye was a crazy close game. The point spread from 1st to 4th was only 4 points (we won’t discuss how far behind Charles was … oh how the mighty hath fallen). David was ahead almost the entire game but Ryan had some crazy scrolls to pull him into the lead. The second group was a bit different. The 2nd, 3rd and 4th places were a solid peloton with only a 1 point difference, but Cameron, who may have actually been hustling the game, pulled ahead by a solid 10 points getting him the highest score of the week, 51. Megan, who should hold lowest score as an honor now, was right on par with Charles.

The Versus Tournament was INSANE. The Garrison (Group 1) was so damn close. Ryan and Wade ended up with 4 wins a piece, and Ryan only took first with a 5 point differential lead. Aranea, Jason and Kris all had 3 wins, again with only PD separating them. Aranea and Ryan ended up playing their game for all the marbles, twice due to a game crash. That was a nail biter.

The Pantheon (Group 2) was just dumb. Freda won all of her games (6) with the military victory, but she only came in second due to PD. David ended up taking first for that group with the highest PD thus far, 87! Cameron, who had a solid round with 4 wins would have been better suited to any other group that didn’t have David or Freda. Tatiana probably should have been in Tavern with the rest of us with only 1 win. Sorry to lump you in with us, Tots.

I’ve decided the Tavern (Group 3) was aptly named because all of us except for Megan played like we were drunk. Megan took 1st with 4 wins, Charles was in 2nd with 2 wins, I was in 3rd only with a BYE this week, and Polly took up last place with 1 win. Despite not being in last place, I was by far the worst player this week losing every game. Every. Single. Game.

Polly though, was the most impressive, snagging the title for highest points with 78 AND lowest points with 16. That takes some sort of skill.
