Patchwork Finals
Patchwork might look cute, but it’s a cutthroat game.
The first week ended with 5 people tied for first, with only point differentials to distinguish them. Charles ended up on top of his group. His games were insane, giving him a PD of 119. It helped that the highest score of the tournament (Charles with 44 points) was against the lowest score of the tournament (Jason with -25). Aranea was tied with Charles with 4 wins, but a lot of her games were incredibly close, and her PD couldn’t compete with Charles’ insane 69 PD in one game.
Freda pulled ahead in her group’s pack also with 4 wins, pulling a 30 point differential ahead of David, and then I rounded out in 3rd place 15 points behind him. Freda managed to always be around 20 points ahead of her opponents with games she won, and only lost by a total of 3 points in the two she lost.
The second week David pulled ahead with a total of 9 wins, his only loss in the second week was to Tatiana. Tots had an amazing week only losing one game to Freda, vaulting her from dead last to one of the wildcard players in the semi-finals. Charles and Aranea were still in their epic battle for first place, but Charles’ PD proved impossible to overcome.
David and Charles, being the leaders of their respective groups advanced directly to the semi-finals, while Aranea vs Tatiana and Freda vs me will determine who of us wildcards will end up in the semi-finals. This is going to be a nail biter of a week!
