Klaus

Nov 26, 2020 | Movies/TV Shows

Well, it’s finally Thanksgiving 2020. It both took way too long to get here but also arrived far too soon. Thus it is with 2020. I usually relegate the offical Christmas kickoff until after Thanksgiving, but with everything going on resulting in a quiet Thanksgiving at home, we decided to break out the decorations and start the Christmas movie marathons a day early. Unfortunately, my all time favorite Christmas movie is only available on Netflix Streaming so it couldn’t be put in the queue. But having to switch over to the Roku didn’t diminish my love for this movie one bit.

I never thought a new movie could make it to my top 5 Christmas movie list, let alone make it all the way to number one, but last year’s Klaus did just that.

The art is gorgeous, the music is perfect and the story never fails to make me feel the magic that is Christmas. Plus it’s weird, super weird. How an almost horror movie can capture the wonder and hope and Christmas spirit, I have no idea, but it does.

I saw this fanmade trailer that used clips from the movie but as a horror and it wasn’t a real stretch.

But then that horror movie turns into something magical.

And fun, so fun!

Anyway, I can’t say enough good things about this movie. It makes me laugh, it makes me cry, it makes me feel like a kid again. And isn’t that what a Christmas movie should be?

Go watch it on Netflix.
