This might be the first post I’ve written about Mad Max: Fury Road, but I guarantee it won’t be the last. I love this movie so much. There’s a very good chance that it might be the best movie ever made. If not the best, at least in the top 5. I may have to make that list at some point in the near future. It will be different than my favorite movies, though. Best doesn’t always equal favorite.

But I digress.

Fury Road is amazing and one of the things that makes it so good are the practical effects. They did everything. Which is why this world, as insane as it is, feels so real. They never did anything that couldn’t be done.

Recently, I started watching a YouTuber named Jill Bearup who does a lot of really great fight break downs. I first discovered her in a video on female armor and it was wonderful. I’ll probably have to talk about that at some point in time too. Anyway, she just posted a video on the first fight scene between Max and Furiosa. You know, the one where Max is still chained to Nux as his blood bag. It’s a bloody brilliant scene and Jill Bearup breaks it down so well I figured I should share it with you guys.
