Sweet Tooth on Netflix
In the age of possibly too many superhero movies (even I could stand on both sides of that argument) I’m excited to hear about a lot of non-superhero comic adaptations in the works. Greg Rucka, one of my favorite comic book authors, has had a number of his creations come to the small screen (although I would argue what is better, big screen in theater or small screen with streaming services, but that’s a rant for another time). Albeit I have not enjoyed the adaptations of Stumptown or Old Guard, I am still hopeful for Queen and Country and Lazarus, but we’ll see.
Brian K. Vaughan’s Y: the Last Man is coming out … sometime in the nearish future and I’m sure Saga will be turned into some space opera on film at some point. Hopefully it’ll be after he is actually done with the series though, so we don’t get a repeat of GoT.
Jeff Lemire is a creator that I have just started getting into and I have fallen hard for Descender and Black Hammer. Sweet Tooth has been a series I have been very interested in for a while but haven’t been able to get my hands on the nice deluxe edition. So, when I heard that Netflix was going to be picking it up for a mini series I was cautiously optimistic. Netflix has been known to disappoint me, but when I heard that it was being produced by Team Downey I actually got excited.
Today, the Teaser Trailer dropped, and kudos to the marketing team at Netflix. Almost all of their trailers in the last month have gotten me really, really excited.
So, here’s hoping.
