I very rarely just do a straight up plug for a product, but today I was blown away by the Adventurer’s Tarot: The Empress Deck. A customer was looking at the box, and although it is a nice box, it’s just black matte with gold foil lettering and some symbols. I didn’t have a deck open for the RPG library yet, so I cracked one open to show off the art. I was shocked at how beautiful the cards were. I had seen photos of them (that’s why we decided to stock it) but holding them in my hands was a completely different effect.

The colors are so vibrant and the gold foil lines make the cards shimmer. Plus the cards themselves are made of a high quality cardstock and they have some heft to them. We have a few tarot decks in the Geekhouse, including a licensed D&D deck, but I have to say, this Empress Deck is my favorite.

The really cool part: you can use this deck to do normal tarot readings, OR because there are special class, familiar and animal companion cards, you can use them as an alternate initiative draw during a roleplaying encounter. So, the next time you are in the Geekhouse ask to seem them and I will gladly show these beauties off.
