As some of you may know, Fantasy Flight is discontinuing their card sleeves and replacing them with Gamegenic sleeves. This was a bit frustrating, as we really liked the FF sleeves and we sleeve everything in our library. However, we did some extensive research on the Gamegenic and other brands of sleeves and it turned out that the Gamegenic matte sleeves were even better than the FF sleeves. They are similar in price but have a ton more sizes, making all of the cards fit perfectly in them. I hope this will cut down on the sleeve splitting we had every now and then in the Lounge. They also have bulk packages coming out soon so we are extremely happy about that. We go through so many sleeves at the Geekhouse.

We decided to go with the matte instead of the shiny for two reasons, one they are a lot better to photograph because the glare is reduced, and also they just feel really nice. It’s something you can’t quantify, it just feels good.

Having said all that, we will put these new sleeves up for sale once we place our next order, but for now, we still have some of the Fantasy Flight sleeves that we were initially hording until we figured out what we were doing. You can buy those in the store now.
